When it comes to the protection of your computer, sometimes you need to consider the antivirus and firewall software together.
For me and my wife, we didn’t want spend money on seperate products. But we did think that it might be a good idea to have a chat and figure out what we wanted for our computer security.
Deciding on Software
When it comes to any kind of software, whether it be antivirus protection or registry cleaners, it can help to do some research and ensure you are getting good value for your money. This is why discussing your options with your family can be a good idea.
Not all software is suitable for everyone. There are horses for courses and you need to be careful of what you are buying. Make sure you are buying something that is compatible with your computer system and will provide optimum protection for you and your computer.
Staying Away From Scammers
As you probably aware, there are plenty of scammers out there that will suck you into a trial version of their software, and before you know it you have a trojan horse stuck in your system. Make sure you check out some reviews of the software you are about to download. If there are any bad reports then simply stay away from that supplier.
Also take notice of their website. Is it professional looking or is it poor quality? These little hints can give you an insight to what the quality of their software might be.
At the end of the day you are safer to stick to the big brands who have a good history and offer a money back guarantee.

Why buy antivirus software online when you can simply download a trial version or freeware version of the software? It seems like a logical choice, as it allows the computer user to have a degree of protection for their computer whilst at the same time, not have to be overly concerned about shelling out their hard earned cash for the privilege. Surely all those people who do decide to pay out rather considerable amounts of money for fully fledged versions of the software in question have been conned….?
No.
The simple truth is that there is no two ways about it: you must buy antivirus software and preferably sooner rather than later. If you have an internet connection then it is imperative that you have a reliable and dependable antivirus application running for whenever you are indeed accessing the internet.
Whilst there are a number of activities that can and will pose a greater degree of risk to the security of your system than others, even the mere act of surfing the internet itself is potentially hazardous. The reason for this is extremely simple: malicious software programs or “malware” can be combined with legitimate software programs in an attempt to further camouflage the more negative aspect of the malware, as the user will think that they simply have a working software application.
So why go to the trouble and expense of buying antivirus? There is one particular saying that springs to mind: you get what you pay for. The major flaw with the trial version copies of the anti virus software is that they do not provide sufficient protection from the effects of the malware. Many of them will only allow you to use them for a limited period of time after which you will be required to upgrade the program (for a fee) or find alternate protection.
If you think that you can simply rely on the software until it expires and then reset it, think again! The producers and retailers of these software applications are well aware that people will try to wiggle out of their obligation to buy antivirus and so to prevent that, they will ensure that the trial versions that are made available will only offer a very select and limited range of protection. This is known as “cripple ware” and is a widely accepted business practise.
Even if you do happen to stumble across the one trial version anti-virus application that provides you with full protection, you can be rest assured that there will be a catch of some variety for example, you will not be able to update the anti virus with the trial version. This is especially significant because malware is continually being improved and worked upon by the people who create it, and so all of the current data that you have managed to collate will quickly become obsolete and redundant as a result.
Make sure you buy antivirus software as soon as you can.
